Rashmi's Bakery specializes in egg-free, nut-free, vegan, wedding and custom cakes for every occasion in life. In a very short span, we have established a large and very loyal client base. We deliver cakes throughout GTA, Mississauga and Brampton area. We offer very clean and friendly work environment.

We work in strictly vegetarian, egg free & nut free environment, so we don't allow any individual to bring meat, eggs or nuts or any food containing these ingradients in our store. Any selected individual will have to adhere to this policy & no exceptions will be made to this policy.

Job Title: Head Pastry Chef / Production Supervisor

Location:80 Pertosa Dr, Brampton, ON

Description:
As the full-time Head Pastry Chef you will be leading a team of 4-8 pastry staff and bakers to deliver delicious and tempting desserts. The Head Pastry Chef will not only be creative, but determined to ensure that the quality of every single piece that is produced tastes great and looks beautiful.

We are looking for a candidate who can produce quality and well as quantity. The successful candidate must have solid supervisory skills, be an excellent communicator and a good team player. He/ she must be able to work in a fast pace and high volume kitchen and have a minimum of 4- 5 years Pastry/Bakery Management experience in a high-end pastry shop or equivalent.

Job Responsibilities:
Head Pastry Chef is an important position, which helps store owner / supervisor, operating store smoothly and involves many responsibilities. Some of which are listed below:

  • Responsible for the daily production (baking and decorating) of high quality cakes, desserts / baked goods, as well as supervising and controlling the pastry production process.
  • Responsible for overall management of Pastry / Bakery Associates.
  • Make production schedule, provide direction to staff and distribute work between other employees.
  • Responsible for baking, assembling, masking and decorating Wedding, Birthday and specialty cakes.
  • Responsible for creating appealing designs for cakes, desserts and baked goods. Create new products that meet the company standards and based on restrictions of ingredients that can be used.
  • Cost all the products that are produced in bakery.
  • Cleaning of utensils, store and equipment.
  • Work overtime, evenings and weekends when required.
  • Any other duties related to store operation as assigned by owner / store supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • 2 – 3 years experience managing a team of 5 or more individuals.
  • 4+ years of experience working with large wedding cakes.
  • Experience decorating cakes with fondant, cream, royal icing and gum paste. Experience creating flowers, 3-D and figure cakes.
  • Experience baking of cakes, desserts and other baked goods
  • Demonstrates excellent people skills and confident in running a smooth operation.
  • Ability to work positively in fast paced environment and to motivate other team members.
  • Willingness to learn, teach and grow other staff members.
  • Basic knowledge of computer, internet and email.
  • Flexible hours - able to work during evenings, weekends and overtime as required.
  • Ability of lift up to 50 lbs of weight.
  • Must be comfortable communicating in English language.

Job Title: Baker

Description:
As the full-time baker, the job involves baking various types of cakes, pastries, desserts and other baked goods. Basic stacking, masking and decoration of cakes is also required.

Job Responsibilities:
Baker has the many responsibilities. Some of which are listed below:

  • Responsible for the daily production (baking) of high quality cakes, desserts / baked goods.
  • Follow production schedule for baking items.
  • Responsible for baking, assembling, masking and decorating basic cakes.
  • Maintain quality of baked goods and suggest improvements to existing recipies.
  • Suggest new items to supervisor and work closely to create new recipies.
  • Communicate to Supervisor all the material that is required for baking.
  • Keep record of items baked, items in stock and future orders.
  • Cleaning of utensils, store and equipment.
  • Work overtime, evenings and weekends when required.
  • Any other duties related to store operation as assigned by owner / store supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • 2 – 3 years experience baking in high production environment.
  • Knowledge of baking processes and ingredients that affect baking quality.
  • Ability to follow recipies.
  • Experience baking of cakes, desserts and other baked goods.
  • Demonstrates excellent people skills.
  • Ability to work positively in fast paced environment.

  • Basic knowledge of computer, internet and email.

Job Title: Beginner Cake Decorators

Description:
We are looking for beginner cake decorators for full time and part time positions.

Job Responsibilities:
If you are interested in cake decoration then this position is for you. We are looking for enthusiastic individual who are keen to work as cake decorator and have an eye for details and passion for creating edible arts.

  • Bake and decorate cakes as per customer requirements.
  • Cleaning of utensils, store and equipment.
  • Work overtime, evenings and weekends when required.
  • Any other duties related to store operation as assigned by owner / supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cake decoration course (Michale's, McCall's, Golda's Kitchen, Bonnie Gordon or other institute) or equivalent work experience.
  • If you are proficient in application of Henna or love painting, you may also want to apply.
  • Keen interest in cake decoration.
  • Quick learner and able to follow directions.
  • Basic experience decorating cakes with fondant, cream, royal icing and gum paste.
  • Basic knowledge of computer, internet and email.
  • Flexible hours - able to work during evenings, weekends and overtime as required.
